UMBC Presents: Balance Campaign

Balance Campaign is a Washington D.C.-based contemporary ensemble passionate about commissioning and premiering new works. Currently in their second season, the group has been in residence at the University of Maryland - Baltimore County and is currently ensemble-in-residence with the District New Music Coalition (DNMC).   The program features works by women composers, and will also feature the premiere works of two student composers, Collin David and Logan Perkins, on this program. Elizabeth will be performing movements from Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, and also "Carnival of the Animals" for 2-pianos and orchestra with pianist, Heather Adelsberger. This program will also feature performances by the Atlantic Reed Consort, St. Louis Strings, and the Columbia Chamber Ballet. Meraki at Politics & Art: District Vox

Meraki will perform for the 5th annual performing arts showcase, Politics & Art: District Vox, co-presented by the Washington Performing Arts’ Mars Urban Arts Initiative and DC-Councilmember David Grosso. Meraki’s showcase will include a performance of Jamie Wind Whitmarsh’s “No Progress Without Loss ... every new beginning,” commissioned by the duo in 2017.
