Great Noise begins its 2018-19 residency at the Westmoreland Congregational Church of Christ with works of Alexandra Gardner, Marcos Balter, and Armando Bayolo. The story of Travelogues is a trip through landscapes, people and creatures that may or may not exist. Vixen is Alexandra Gardner’s road trip (literally, as the piece was written for the Grand Valley State University New Music Ensemble’s ongoing tours of our National Parks) through the National Park system; Codex Seraphinianusis Marcos Balter’s take on the eponymous atlas of mythical creatures; and The Books of Bokonon is…

Friday Music Series: Great Noise Ensemble presents “Travelogues: Real and Imagined”

Great Noise makes its debut at Georgetown University’s Friday Music Series with a partial repeat performance of the Travelogues program, consisting of selections from Armando Bayolo‘s The Books of Bokonon. The performance will be free of charge. The Books of Bokonon is a musicological tour through the Island of San Lorenzo based on Kurt Vonnegut’s Cat’s Cradle.

On December 15, 2018 at 8:00 p.m., Great Noise Ensemble will present the first of a series of programs called The Four Freedoms Project at Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ.
