The Voice of Silence

“The Voice of Silence” is an immersive audio-visual installation featuring Federico Mompou’s Musica Callada performed by pianist Elizabeth G. Hill. The primary focus through this installation is to create a musical space that draws a community together as listeners, encouraging moments for peace and personal reflection.

The Musica Callada collection is comprised of 28 short pieces, composed between 1959 and 1974. The entire recording is approximately 60 minutes, though viewers are encouraged to come and go as they please, and take in the art at their own pace. This project was made possible in part through the generous support of the Maryland State Arts Council Creativity Grant.
